BIBB Establishment Panel on Qualification and Competence Development
The BIBB Establishment Panel on Qualification and Competence Development (BIBB Training Panel) is a representative survey of enterprises with at least one employee subject to social insurance contributions in Germany on in-company qualification and skills development that was first conducted in 2011. Approximately 2,000 companies were surveyed between 2011 and 2013. In 2014, the number of companies was increased to approximately 3,500. The overall study of the BIBB Training Panel is designed as a longitudinal study (annual panel study).
The aim of the panel is to provide detailed information on the structures, developments and interrelationships of in-company qualification measures and in-company qualification-related labour demand.
The core modules of all surveys are general company fundamentals (including employment structure and sector affiliation), in-company initial and continuing vocational training (including scope, goals and difficulties), personnel recruitment as well as company framework data and personnel structure. Furthermore, there are annually changing education policy topics and research foci.
In addition to the cross-sections of the individual years, a harmonised longitudinal section is available at the BIBB-FDZ. The long data set is updated with the publication of a new cross-sectional data set.
