Transnational Mobility in Initial Vocational Education and Training in 2017
In 2017, the National Agency at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training conducted a mobility study on stays abroad by apprentices. As part of the project, apprentices in their final year of training, as well as firms providing training, graduating classes and headteachers of vocational schools were surveyed. Altogether the data sets provide a comprehensive view of stays abroad by apprentices during their vocational training. In addition to the destinations and occupations of the apprentices, questions were also asked about support programmes and the
and the financing of stays abroad. The motives for stays abroad can also be depicted from different perspectives. Some of the graduating classes surveyed can be linked to the information provided by the school headteachers via a school ID.
