ISIC

Die International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities kurz ISIC ist die Systematik der Wirtschaftszweige der United Nations. Sie wird seit ihrem Erscheinen im Jahr 1948 immer wieder aktualisiert. Die aktuellste Version ist die ISIC Rev.4.
Die ISIC ist die Grundlage sowohl der europäischen Klassifikation der Wirtschaftszweige, NACE, als auch der deutschen WZ.
Ziel der Klassifikation ist “to provide a set of activity categories that can be utilized for the collection and reporting of statistics according to such activities” (United Nations 2008: iii). Die ISIC ist hierarchisch aufgebaut.
